So far, interest seems to be underwhelming. Much as I love the World Cup, I can't help feeling that by hosting it in 2 countries separated by a large stretch of water, it's simply going to be unaffordable for most people, no matter how reasonable they make the ticket prices.

If it was hosted entirely in New Zealand or even Australia I reckon there would be far more planning to go.

Two countries is definitely a negative. So is the sheer length of the tournament. Like the football world cup, this event has been stretched beyond any reasonable limits, and the interests of any ordinary fan who might actually want to follow their team rather than simply attend a game or two have been completely written out of the script.

I object too to the way that Test cricket has been put on ice through next winter to allow 'preparation' for this event.

Yes, I am going - will be my third in a row from start to end - come on, England have to win the damn thing at some point right?

Trust you're well Harvey?

I'm actually in the planning stages for tickets etc, so need some advice on which stand to get tickets in - for all the grounds England may visit, so any advice you can give would be great!

I'm holding up OK for the time being thanks, although there have been a few ups and downs in recent weeks.

Not much advice I can give you on these grounds really. At the MCG avoid Bay 13 (full of inbred ferals), and also seats that are too near the back, from where you'll need binoculars to see anything. Adelaide Oval has been turned into a football stadium, but still has one grass bank left, which should be OK as long as it's not too full, which I can't see it being for the clash with Bangladesh. For that you normally just get a general admission ticket.

Unfortunately the venue being used in Wellington is the dreadful looking ultra-modern Westpac Stadium (known appropriately by locals as "The Cake Tin") instead of the Basin Reserve.

I'm very impressed by your efforts to get to all the games once again.

Could well be tempted to do part if not all of this tour as I can't wait until 2018 before visiting New Zealand again!!
