I'm sorry to have to say that George took his own life last night. I know lots of you knew him well and this will come as an awful shock. RIP mate, still numb and don't know what to say. |

Totally Shocked. You couldn't meet a nicer guy on tour. He would do anything for anyone and often to his own expense. He will be very sadly missed RIP George. |

Such sad news filtering through this morning. RIP Podgey lad. You will be sorely missed on tour. Our thoughts are with Yvonne and the family |

Very upsetting news. George used to help huge numbers of people out while on tour, and not only first timers. For example I remember him sorting me out with Adelaide Ashes tickets (at face value of course) in 2006, when even contacts in Australia had drawn a blank, and I was all-but resigned to having to buy off touts. You will be greatly missed, George. |

Last saw him in Chennai in March trying to get home early to be with his wife. Terrible news. RIP. |

So sad that things got to that stage George!! Such a loud, in your face character suicide just doesn't fit with the person we all knew. RIP |

George RIP mate So So sad thoughts with family at this so difficult time. Great times remember George getting me into the party stand at st johns(was 10ft of grass) for next to nowt amongst many generous acts. Always a kind word on tour and the most helpful bloke you could ever wish to meet. Flags really will me at half mast. RIP GEORGE. |
