The life and soul of our party has gone. He would do anything for anyone from his best mates to complete strangers to make sure they enjoyed their tour. Can't believe it. The man was quite simply, top of the league. RIP Podge |

A smashing guy who was always so positive and appeared to enjoy any occasion. I got to know George on many tours but my best memory was in the Caribbean when England won the T20 and we were a small group who celebrated long and hard. I'm stunned and shocked and send my sincere condolences to Yvonne and his family and friends. You'll be missed George. |

A sad sad day and a great loss. As well as helping all traveling cricket fans my abiding memory of George is when in Chittagong and the time he spent giving a little boy, Bilal, days that Bilal will never forget, The tears shed on Bilals departure says everything about George. Thanks for everything, you will be sorely missed. RIP George. "Top of the league" guv'nor. |

Absolutely stunned to hear the sad news. Thinking about all the great times we've had on tour - Podge was at the heart of so many of them. So generous and entertaining, it really is devastating to think of him feeling this way. Thoughts go out to Yvonne and family. |
