Starting bank of a hypothetical one thousand pound.

Bet 1: aus to beat India in fourth test at adelaide.

Two hundred and twenty quid at 10/11, potential profit two hundred quid.

Available on the high street with hills and numerous other online layers.

Honestly v.surprised at this, a stand out price. Betfair are only offering 4/5 and they will take 5pc of your profits. Wish Idve known this earlier, might've had a serious punt on it.

Pakistan the outsiders of three here, which seems a little daft, but I refuse to bet against England, draw is too short as usual, two teams that are stronger in bowling than batting, little chance of significant time lost to weather, even on a flat track 2.28 needs to be laid.

Bet 2: lay draw pak v England second test Abu dhabi , lay£200 risking £228, potential profit of £190.

Ok, bank up to 1390 quid, disappointed with England all the same. Suspect a lay of the draw again for the third test eng v pak, but shall wait and see if I can lay at shorter than two to one.

I laid the draw at 2.79 after 2nd test finished and then closed some out at 3.8 last night! I don't know what I have missed as haven't seen news for a while but that seemed a big move without a ball being bowled??? Also did the same as above however my England series win looked quite shabby from the stands last week! :)

You did well Cockney. I waited for a better price. I'll either have to bite the bullet and lay at close to 4s, or bet on something different or just not bet.

Think I'll bite the bullet, 4s is still too short. Will have a proper look at it all when I get home tonight and post my bet.

Bank after 3 bets (all winners) = £1485.

Ok One day series pak vs Eng preview.

Kicks off in a couple of hours, 4 matches. ON paper should be all over Pakistan especially with the addition of Afridi. Think I saw them at around the 4/5 mark (for the first match), which seems generous. Series betting is a little more interesting than normal - unusually there are 4 tests and Very little chance of any matches being significantly affected by the rain so the tied series does come in to play. But I think it’s been given too much significance â€" a 2-2 draw really isn’t that likely and an England win even less so â€" think the market has Pak seriously underrated in the series betting. Thing is England ain’t an awful one day team, but we’re far from brilliant too. What we are is very very inconsistent, the ups and downs of the England squad are remarkable, and have been so for many years (remember losing 5-0 at home to Sri Lanka in 2006 and then winning the tri nations tournament (think we were 200-1 at one point on betfair) in Australia 6 months later having got mauled in the ashes in between), Thing is I’d want a bit better than 5/4 given their recent form. 7/4 might be tempting. 4-0 Pak at anything close to tens would be the punt under normal circumstances, but Pakistan will surely throw one - If they’re three nil up with one to play and 150-1 chasing 220 then I’ll be all over England at 100-1. Until then I refer you to my summary.

Summary: £200 Pak to win series at 2.25 (haven't checked price this morning, but they were something like that last time I looked) This could be a back to lay bet btw, shall update later - might take a profit if they go 2-0 up.

Back any side that bats first.

I was going to lump on Pakistan for the series but decided against at the last minute when England won the toss. I cannot see either side chasing anythig over 230-240. I got on England today at evens when we were 80 odd for 2.

I repeat the toss will be crucial in all games.

Well I got that one, but don't mind seeing England win - basically we annihilated them. Up and Down, Up and Down .... that's England at one day cricket. Just when you think we're no good we pull off a great win, just when you think we might've finally cracked it we have a shocker.

Pak now 4-1 to win series (probably means winning 3 consecutive matches). Shoab Malik was an unbelievable 50-1 to be top pak scorer yesterday with Fred Done. Bit of a daft price I thought, didn't do it in the end but was well in with a chance.
