This next hour should decide whether or not my theroy was right or not. Lumped all my winnings on England at evens when we won the toss!

Good work again Rich and your theory is still standing up, albeit it could have gone either way today...

I continued my winning theme also thanks to the liking Ali Cook has for batting first on this ground... :P

Well done Rich, looks like that's my first bet down - deserve it for being so unpatriotic. £1285 in the bank now.

They really are so inconsistent this England odi team. I'm not going to allow myself to get remotely excited about them just yet, given the number of false dawns they've given us in the past.

i know this out of topic,
but for the 2012 20/20 world cup and 50/50 world cup in 2015, i would bet for new zealand to win these tournaments, they have some good attacking players and know how to win ODI games, have been to the semi finals 5 times, could have been 6 if they played Kenya in the 2003 world cup.
been very impressed with them today in they 20/20 games against south Africa.

Slightly different pitch, plenty of carry which with two new balls makes our attack dangerous. Pakistan will miss Younis Khan....I've backed England. Only £22 at 10/11 - not quite as confident with us chasing!

I was going to lump on Pakistan for the series but decided against at the last minute when England won the toss. I cannot see either side chasing anythig over 230-240. I got on England today at evens when we were 80 odd for 2.

I repeat the toss will be crucial in all games.

Bang goes that theory. ;) ;)

Read the thread on old lad -

Not remotely off topic mate, any cricket betting talk fine imo. I don't recall seeing any prices for either of those tournaments (and I can't check either as betting sites are banned at work- the best site to look at is oddschecker.com if anyone wanted to look up). I'd expect NZ to be about 12s for 2020 and perhaps 20s for the 50/50. If you could place two £20 singles and a £10 double at those hypothetical odds (bookies won't give you the double tbh as connected bets) then that'd return £260/£420/£3410 depending if they win 20s/50s/both.
(incidentally did you know Afghanistan are ranked 9th in the world at 20/20?)

hmmm on second thoughts 20s would be pretty generous on the 50/50 in their own conditions. Perhpas 16s a fair price.
