Anyone travelled over to the Netherlands to watch their team in the CB40 games? Notts have been finally drawn in the same group and a nice little jolly is hoping to be planned when the fixture dates are announced. Seems like they have a few grounds where they play but Stena Line ferry from Harwich maybe a good way to go over. Any travel/hotel advice would be most welcome. |

We enjoyed a great couple of days this year, in spite of Lancs managing to throw away a tremendous position. The Dutch are warm hosts and do'nt even charge for the privellige of watching (something to do with their status). Our game was in Rotterdam, as was the Esex game the day after. The ground was a short train ride and a decent walk from the centre, which turned out to be a bit of a problem for the lads who had Ferried it as the return sailing was early evening and made it a bit tight. You might want to bear that in mind especially when flights are as cheap as, ours was about £60 from Manchester. We had a night in the Dam and second night in Rotterdam, in all honesty the nightlife in R'dam 'aint brilliant but after a day at the cricket .... wel you get my drift. From what I've heard they do move the games around so you could be anywhere, in any case its a not to be missed and another country I never thought I'd go to for cricket. |

I went to see Middlesex in Deventer last year. I can't remember whether they charged admission, but if they did, it wasn't much. I flew into Schipol and got a direct train to Deventer from there. Others crossed the channel by Eurostar to Brussels, got the Thalys to Amsterdam, and another train from there. I stayed 2 nights, and everyone who went had a great time. Not a cheap trip though. Depending on where you're playing and what time it starts, you might be able to save on a night's accommodation by getting the overnight boat from Harwich arriving on the morning of the game. |

Cheers guys. Looks like they played their CB40 games at three different venues this season - Voorburg, Schiedam and Amstelveen. Will just have to wait now but maybe tempted to drive if Schiedam as only a 30 minute drive from Hook of Holland ferry terminal. Looks like a good trip wherever though. |

Rumours going round that the Netherlands will play most if not all of their 2013 'home' CB40 fixtures in England!! Hope that this is nothing more than a rumour as it looks like 2013 will be the last year for a nice European trip with Netherlands likely not to be inviolved in the new CB50 from 2014!! |

Netherlands v Notts could well be played in Cornwall!! From twitter but Notts CCC posted it. As for not being involved from 2014 i think i found that on cricketeurope4.net. As much as i like Cornwall i will not be travelling down there for a 'Netherlands' away trip. |
