482-5 off 86.5 overs,is some score on the 1st day of 2nd Test in Adelaide. Is that one of the highest scores ever?. Congrats also to Clarke, who hit his 4th Double Century in the calender year, thus becoming the 1st person to do so. Just found out it was Aus 2nd highest 1st day total,496 against the Saffers at Sydney in 1910. |

Congrats also to Clarke, who hit his 4th Double Century in the calender year, thus becoming the 1st person to do so. Just found out it was Aus 2nd highest 1st day total,496 against the Saffers at Sydney in 1910. In 1910 a day of Test cricket in Australia lasted 5 hours, so that must have been some exhibition of hitting! What's more it was a timeless Test, so it made me wonder why they were in such a hurry. It seems the answer might have been that there was some rain forecast, which was not good news for batting in the days of uncovered pitches. SA were a decent side in those days, but a bit too reliant on spin. In fact they went into that game with only one fast bowler! I watched quite a bit of the 1st day of the current game, and it could have all been so different if Kallis and Steyn hadn't got injured. SA have really got their work cut out to save this one, especially with no runners allowed nowadays. |

Great cricket, but with a massive downside that they COULD return to world No 1. |

Better day today for the Saffers......I want to know why they didn't dish up any dross like yesterday to our batsmen earlier this year?? Been very disappointed in them so far this series. |

Just had the day at the Adelaide oval (they are wreking it with the new build - small piece of the hill left), and I have to say they are the worst supporters (I hesitate to call them that) I have ever come across - To think that they are vying for the #1 spot in cricket, you could have heard a pin drop at the ground - They really do not seem to have any passion for the game......Or is this me just being biased Couple of guys were saying that they cant wait for next year when the poms arrive - Yeah get some atmosphere into the place |

great morning, we win (expected) and the Aussies don't (not expected) ... and considering the overnight position on day 4, you'd have expected a few more at the building site ? |

If the 3rd Test in Perth ends in a draw, and we win the series in India,do we go back to No 1 in the rankings? |

No. If the Aus/SA series is 0-0 and we beat India 3-1, South Africa remain top by 1 point. They then play NZ at home and Pakistan at home (at the same time we tour NZ) Assuming they win both of those we probably wont have a chance of getting back up there until after our next summer against NZ and the Convicts. |

Yes, even if Aus won 1-0, and we won 3-1 the aussies would have it by 118.9 to 119.3 |
