Looks like a result pitch in Perth. Clarke doesn't get a double hundred and the convicts batting goes down the pan. Don't know whether to laugh or cry |

Even Ravi Bopara could score a hundred on that wicket. I've a feeling this one could go down to the wire - and that's even before I've been at the Rizlas. |

Well, that was a thrashing! In hindsight it was that incredible rearguard from the Saffers at Adelaide that decided it. The Aussies flogged their seamers so hard that there was no chance of them recovering in time for Perth. On the whole, unlike their visit here, SA didn't even have to play well to win the series, except in the final Test, and that was against an abysmal bowling attack. |

I can't believe the Australian selectors deemed Siddle and Ben Hilfenhaus too fatigued after the Adelaide Test to play in Perth - presumably they'll be nice and rested for the really important game against Sri Lanka in 10 days time. Far from seeing Australia re-build after their Ashes debacle they seem to be going from bad to worse with their bowling attack. And I couldn't believe my eyes towards the end of day two, when the Saffers were filling their boots, watching Michael Clarke and the rest of his team laughing and joking as they made an obviously heart-hearted DRS appeal. Can you imagine the Australian team of ten years ago finding their predicament remotely amusing. I expected much more of a fightback from the Convicts but they and their supporters still appear to be in denial - Channel 9 viewers overwhelmingly voting Michael Clarke man of the series. You couldn't make it up. |

Agreed with most of what you said Cuthbert, but not sure what the issue with Clarke getting MOS is?? 576 runs in 3 tests at an ave of 144.......even if he was on the losing side that is still a stand out effort. None of the bowlers from either side hugely stood out and the only other batsmen in contention would have been du Plessis and Clarke almost doubled him for runs scored. Convict or not Clarke is in some rich vain of form right now. |
