Was lucky enough to stay in the same Galle hotel with CMJ on the 2007 tour to Sri Lanka. Chatted to him one morning about our youngest son who was in SL coaching cricket in his gap year and in particular a young SL lad who had lost both parents to the tsunami, a couple of years before. Our son had said this lad was a talent, and CMJ took interest and later wrote an article on the youngster, after later meeting with our son. The lad has since played for SL u19s. CMJ seemed very genuine to us ... RIP not the CMJ article (which was in a UK paper I think) but worth a read www.unconditionalcompassion.org/sub/201 ... ricket.php |

Always liked his commentary, never fanciful and kept the score regularly updated. Another voice of TMS we will never hear again sadly. RIP to a true professional. |

I was standing at a baggage carousel in Perth in 2006 when I heard his voice behind me. For a moment ,I got that immediate urge to turn around as though one of my family was there. He will be missed. |
