A great lady and a great Prime Minister although some of our friends 'oop North might not agree.
I was searching for a cricket connection and came up with this.
But of a long-winded story about nothing from Farokh Engineer but Dean Jones ends with a good 'un.

Love her or loathe her, she certainly changed things.

As did Stalin, Hitler, and Pol Pot.

I wouldn't waste my time pretending they cared in the slightest for cricket, and it's daft to pretend Thatcher did either.

In cricket you support your team-mates and they support you. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts. A notion that Thatcher never ever grasped.

Lol at Engineer saying he doesn't like name droppers then dropping names all over the shop. I totally agree and said as much the other night when I went out for a drink with me old mates Barack Obama and the Pope.

At best a tenuous link between 'Her' and cricket. Shepherds Pie and graffiti !
Not the place for political discussion, particularly when about someone likely to stir up such extreme reactions.

You seem to have assumed the role of self-appointed moral guardian on here - frankly given how few people use these forums any more and prefer Facebook I would have thought the more the merrier.

And if you think cricket and politics don't go together you obviously know diddly-squat about the history of the game.

You want another Thatcher/cricket link old cock ?

Given that Cricket Ireland draws its membership from all provinces North and South of the Border it's not surprising that Mooney's crass comments and similar tweets eulogising Gerry Adams have brought widespread condemnation from fans.

Climb off your high horse, old bean, and try to engage in discussion rather than vitriol just because someone has a different view from you.

You show me the vitriol and I'll withdraw it. My opinion is that this is not a forum to discuss former Prime Ministers UNLESS they did something for cricket, ie John Major.
I rather expected you would react childishly, and I was right, to any post I submitted.
You might note that the downturn in posts on this forum rather co-incided with your unfortunate arrival and usually non-sensical and abusive, not to say racist outpourings, Old thing.

I say old chap that's pushing it a bit.
Blaming me for people not posting on here is a bit like those Northern chappies blaming Maggie Thatcher for all their ills, including the price of pork scratchings and the dearth of cheap whippet collars.
Oops, there I go again.
I mentioned her name on a CRICKET forum
