I know you get lots of these stories about bringing people out of retirement for one last hurrah and nothing ever comes of them (Warne seemingly every ashes), but I was surprised to just find out that he was the top runscorer in Sheffield Shield cricket over the winter with 900 runs. He will be here playing for Surrey in June and July keeping his eye in and getting used to the conditions and it was only 6 months ago that he was playing test cricket. Their batting looks very weak and surely a few of them are gonna struggle for runs in the first couple of tests and there will be calls to replace them. At the very least I expect there to be calls for his return (which he'd love) from certain pundits/media sorts regardless of whethere it is remotely likely. If he gets runs for Surrey early doors could be very interesting. Would be fun for sure.

Last night before the Derbys v Surrey match he said he meant he was happy to help out the youngsters, not that he was happy to play. So, however much we would like (?) to see Clyde from the Ant Hill Mob play, it just isn't going to happen.
