Strange was'nt it. Around 87/88 he murdered every attack going. He actually scored 180 odd against WI in the tour game at Worc........he'd just seen out his qualification period. Then in the tests ,they targeted him and absolutely shattered him. He never seemed to recover from that for any sustained period afterwards. I know you can't compare county and test cricket but he was a different class previously...even against international bowlers.
I'm sure his parents were tobacco farmers (?) in zimbabwe, I've often wondered if thats why the windies targeted him so much. They were brutal to him.

He was a class act though. He made batting look easy.
