Appears Goochy has left his position. Credit to him for taking the news like this......no snidey running off to cry to the press. A few should take note.
His role drew critisism recently, probably rightly so, but he remains a giant of the English game.

Yup, Gooch always did class.
Not something you could say about the oafish Pietersen and his juvenile tweets. The more he makes of them the more I'm convinced England were right to jettison his ego.

Hard to disagree with that comment. It appears in this instance there really is a 'freshening-up' rather than any form of dismissal, which would have been remiss after all the great service he has provided to England.
Interesting comment from Cook about continuing to work with him ! Private capacity ?
Is it the next instalment in unburdening the system of its massive entourage. In which case could I suggest the menu compiler next.

A giant who loved his country so much that he pissed off to play in apartheid South Africa rather than fight for his Test place
