I am sure that I am not alone in that fortunate as I was to get a ticket in the BA ballot for The Oval, my usual companion got one for a different day. Would be great if some kind of exchange could be set up. As someone who supports England at The Oval through BA no matter who is touring, it was disappointing to have to apply via a ballot this year with not even the ability to apply jointly with 2 different memberships to at least get the same day. Should be some sort of loyalty scheme so that those who go every year should get some priority when it comes to The Ashes. -did first class members even get priority? |

Wow thats not very user friendly. Can't even apply for the same day ballot ??? In this day and age I would be tempted to suggest that you've entered details incorrectly but then I remember who we are dealing with (any cricket authority) and their stampede to eke out every penny from the Ashes bonanza. All the same, a happy customer is much more likely to spend in the ground with friends, than disappear to the pub/ local eatery to meet up so someone hasn't thought this one through very well. We were allowed up to 4 tx for as many days as we wanted, although there was some priority for having attended this year. I think the ballot can be a very good way of scaring people into advanced sales. The not for profit tx exchange is working quite well at quite a no of football clubs, despite often being in competition with the 'official' club one which can cost the proverbial arm and a leg. Prob on doing it for cricket are the distances involved and trust required. An independent forwarder would be absolutely necessary. |

Had we both only applied for one day it may have worked or just as likely one or neither of us would have got a ticket. To increase the likelihood of success we opted for any of a number of days and of course with no way to tie up the two requests it was always a high probability if successful we would get different dates. |
