Don't bother will all-inclusive unless you want to sit by a pool and eat three meals a day.
It's perfectly possible to do Barbados quite reasonably in the same way that you can do Australia reasonably if you're prepared to do it yourself.
Get a room only in St Lawrence Gap and just grab food as and when you need it. Plenty of takeaway places in Barbados.

CR is absolutely right. Barbados isn't too expensive depending on where you go. And the place is superb so it is a crime to stay in your hotel and do all inclusive. In St Lawrence gap there's some good reasonable restaurants and bars, the street food (chicken, burgers etc cooked on bbqs) for peanuts and my favourite bar The Absolut Watering Hole rum shack has very cheap drinks. Can't remember prices but a beer was less than £2 in 2009 & 2010 and a half bottle of rum, couple of bottles of coke and a pot of ice about a fiver. Get out and about, you'll love it. It's not even comparable with Oz prices

Love Barbados and already gathering the lad's money for the 2015 test. Agree with everyone here, avoid all inclusive. Was in the Absolute Watering Hole in Aug 2013 and over xmas this year! Prices are still $5 BDS a bottle of Banks Beer (£1.50). Half Bottle of Rum was about £4-5. The 'Gaps' has been very quite over the passed 3 years with a few bars shutting. Glad to say that between Aug last year and Xmas, a number of new bars (with live music etc) had sprung up and the Gap is getting to where it once was.

The West Coast is more for couples (in my opinion) and predominately hotel based. For the atmosphere etc, stay near the Gap/Oistins etc and you'll enjoy every minute.

Just need the dates now and we're booked!!

Is there anywhere worth signing up to so that I know when 2015 tour venues and dates are announced? I'm hoping for barbados first test and going to try to stay at oceans two hotel so that it's a nice enough hotel to get married in. The other hotels around st Lawrence gap don't really look like those sort of hotels so think I'll need to be quick off the mark.

I keep looking on the ECB website each week for updates on the WI Tour 2015. I've got mates over there (including hotel owners) who doesn't know themselves when the Barbados Test is. Regarding hotels near St Lawrence Gap, we got married at Bourganvillea Hotel about 5 mins along from St.Lawrence/Dover Beach. The other hotels that you could get married at right next to St Lawrence Gap would be Couples (was Casarina Beach Club) but this is an All Inclusive hotel, which personally, I wouldn't recommend in Barbados particular she there is a Test on!
