Can you get phone cards in barbados and St Lucia? Not to happy with my mobile phone company not doing any travel packages while iam in the Caribbean. |

I'm sure you will be able to get a Digicel phone card. The bigger better network |

Ah, one of my pet subjects! You can buy a Digicel SIM card in Barbados for about 10USD, and calls home are dirt cheap. Most newsagents will allow you to top up - the supermarket opposite Scotty's in the Gap, for example. Personally, I always buy a local SIM when travelling abroad for a week or so. It's much, much cheaper for reassuring Mrs. Crouchy I'm still alive, and getting hold of other lads on tour. I know a couple of people who did the whole WI tour on their UK phones and came back to phone bills of £1400+... ridiculous sums of money. I spent about £30 total for a week in Barbados, and about £20 for a week in Trinidad. One more point - a SIM card for Barbados is unlikely to work on other islands, but Digicel (being an almighty evil empire) normally sells SIM cards in the arrivals hall of WI international airports. |

Bought a digicel sim in Barbados,worked fine.Went to buy 1 in Trinidad,was told it won't work as i only had a dual band phone,not a quad band.  |

Always take my old Sony Ericsson K700i on tour, it's tri-band not quad-band. Chatted up the evil corporate Digicel girl in Port of Spain airport and got a pile of free credit too, all I had to was slate C & W! |

Yep brought a sim card in Barbados (Digicell) which worked in Trinidad, but then brought a top up voucher in Port of Spain airport but was told needed different sim card, but she had none she could sell me! Ended up buying one at the ground on day 1, but then needed a passport to buy it, unlike in Barbados, which I did not have, but a fellow supporter lent me his, which was really good of him. |

In Barbados I bought a Blue phone card for use in the payphones - $20 and it more lasted all week with loads of calls made back home, would recommend it as an alternative to using your mobile although accept it isnt as user friendly or convienent for some... But just another option to throw into the mix.. |
