The commentators got this one right ... just keep playing and win the game in 50 overs, no chance of a "dyson" that way |

Ok,we've won a game of cricket,but i still think the Windies will clean up with Dyson in charge. Sorry. |

They were strolling to victory, but he lost concentration when he kept on trying to influence the umpires decision (to go off for bad light). If he had kept his eye on the game they would have cruised to victory. |

He certainly should struggle. It was a very basic error to make. Everyone else was aware of the D/L situation and once you take the time to read up on it, it really isn't a difficult formula to understand. He overlooked the fact that the last wicket to fall affected the calculation of how much of the team's resources had been used. The D/L method is the internationally accepted method of settling matches in such situations and it seems to be here to stay. At this level, all players and members of team management should have complete awareness of it. |
