New Zealand 2013 - Sumptuous Lunch and Wine Tasting Tour
Tim Coney brother of Jeremy Coney (ex Test international and distinctive Sky commentator) owns and runs a vineyard and very popular restaurant just over an hour outside of Wellington in the Martinborough wine region. He has agreed to open his doors exclusively to the Barmy Army on the 19th March which is the day after the Test match is scheduled to finish in Wellington.
He has offered to personally host a tour around the vineyards, oversee some tasting of his highly acclaimed wines before providing us with a sumptuous (his words!) lunch. There will be a choice of two mains with a glass of wine of choice, a choice of two deserts followed by tea and coffee. Tim tells me that in the right atmosphere he likes to indulge in the odd song and even a bit of poetry, so I guess this wont be your run of the mill wine tour !!
The all in package including transport from Wellington at around 10am and return around 4.30pm will be £47.50 which will (ideally) need to be paid before we go. For those that will be making their way to Taupo on the 19th I'm told Coney wines is on the picturesque route (again Tims words!) to Taupo therefore if transport is not required let me know along with any other questions you may have at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Numbers are limited for what should be a cracking day so please book as soon as you can to avoid disappointment (as they say!)
