We are proud to announce our Barmy Army Hall of Fame!
The Barmy Army and Lashings World XI have combined to launch our very own Hall of Fame, and deliver a series of events featuring the inductees to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. We will be collaborating on a variety of events whilst raising valuable funds for the Lord’s Taverners Wicketz programme in the process.
Beginning in Barbados during the upcoming tour of the West Indies, legends of English cricket will be inducted into The Barmy Hall of Fame as a way of thanking them for the many years of joy they have brought us all.
We begin by welcoming an all-time Barmy Army legend and former England fast bowler, Darren Gough.
The Yorkshireman took an incredible 229 Test wickets for England, including a famous hat-trick at the SCG in 1999. Goughie was the most successful bowler during our first Ashes tour in 1994/95, so it seems appropriate that he is the first inductee to The Barmy Army Hall of Fame!
Our event with Darren will be held on 25th January 2019 (Day 3 of the first Test), and will feature an interview with Goughie followed by a Q&A session. More details will be released very soon.
“We are incredibly excited to be working with Lashings World XI on this project", says Barmy Army Managing Director Chris Millard.
"We have wanted to create a Barmy Army Hall of Fame for a while, and our 25th anniversary year is the perfect opportunity to do so. These events are our way of giving back to the players who have brought us so much joy over the years, and the chance to meet your cricketing heroes whilst on tour with The Barmy Army is too good to miss."
Keep an eye on our social media to find out the next inductee and all upcoming events, we’ve got a fantastic line-up in 2019.
