The Fans World Cup concept was created in 2021 to provide a truly unique opportunity for cricket players to represent their countries at some of the best cricketing venues in the world. The inaugural fans world cup was held in Oxford, England where Barbados beat England’s Barmy Army in the final and celebrated long into the night with their stand-in ‘coach’ Joel Garner.
In 2023, the competition travelled to Sri Lanka and games were played at the breath-taking Galle International Stadium. Teams from England, Australia, India, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Pakistan played in a round robin where Pakistan lifted the trophy. There were sixes, wickets and of course some ‘village’ moments but most importantly there were many laughs that were had. As well as the unique experience of representing your country at one of the most iconic grounds in world cricket, your trip will also afford you some time to explore the city and the surrounding area with optional excursions available to book and enjoy before the main event commences. It truly is a bucket-list trip!
